Responsible for the management and operation of the University Research Stores in Natural Sciences & Mathematics (NSM).
Manages the University Research Stores in NSM; develops strategies for maximizing cost recovery, promotes the store within the University and manages the preparation of the publications including catalogs, advertisements and flyers.
Plans and coordinates the purchasing, sales and distribution of scientific materials and supplies, and the sourcing, negotiation and requisition of resale materials; represents the best interests of the University with private sector company sales representatives.
Manages and controls scientific inventory of resale products; researches, analyzes and determines products for sale and optimal stocking levels of these products; administers an automated data collection system; conducts periodic and annual inventories of resale materials and prepares the annual report of inventory for the Controller's Office.
Responsible for the procurement, distribution and sales of liquid nitrogen and carbon dioxide to the university research/teaching community; responsible for the procurement and sales of tax-free ethanol to the university research/teaching community; reports sales of tax-free ethanol to appropriate federal agencies via the Director of Procurement.
Responsible for the procurement and sales of laboratory supplies for the Biology, Biochemistry and Chemistry undergraduate teaching laboratories; supervises the cash sales of laboratory supplies to undergraduate students and ensures that proper lab and safety supplies are available for undergraduate students to purchase; oversees Biology undergraduate lab budgets.
Directs sales activities, sets sales and revenue collection goals; ensures customer satisfaction, provides technical sales assistance and prepares the annual financial report for the Department Chair.,,
Administers the local area network of University Research Stores-NSM; researches, analyzes and designs the configuration, installation and maintenance of software/hardware upgrades; posts sales and merchandise receipts, daily backup, trains staff to use computer hardware and software.
Oversees the receiving, shipping and package delivery for University Research Stores, Biology, Biochemistry and Chemistry Departments. Develops and administers automated package tracking system.
Establishes the work assignments of staff and supervises daily work routines; defines job duties and conducts annual performance appraisals.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Bachelors and minimum 1 year experience required.
Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of one (1) year of directly job-related experience.
