Modern Supply Company, Inc. is looking to fill a store manager position at its Elizabethtown , Kentucky location. Modern Supply Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Modern Welding Company, Inc., an 87 year-old family owned business and leading fabricator of tanks and pressure vessels throughout the United States. Modern Supply Company has five store locations located in Kentucky and Indiana.
Manages all aspects of day-to-day operations for Welding Supply store including sales and customer service, personnel, store profitability, compliance to company policies, etc.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees, planning and directing work, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing issues and resolving problems.
Evaluates and monitors day-to-day operations to ensure the operation of a cost effective profitable store and makes changes necessary to ensure same.
Works with other company owned store personnel and management to ensure we keep customer service, profitability, and customer growth as a top priority.
Oversees and maintains acceptable inventory levels for gas and supplies, accounts receivable, cylinder levels, etc., and take appropriate action to assure same.
Ensures company safety guidelines are adhered to including OSHA, DOT, etc.
Supervises and assists in all sales related activities involving orders, pricing and customer service to ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded.
Assures that the store location is in good repair, clean, and neat.
Assists with any other duties and responsibilities that might be assigned.

Qualifications, education and experience:
Associates degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer experience with Microsoft excel and word or similar applications required. Ability to comprehend and master software used to manage business. (Currently Dataweld).

The individual must occasionally lift up to 60lbs and move up to 125 lbs. with the aid of material handling equipment.
