The position, reporting to the Assistant Director of Merchandise and Supplies at the Colorado State University Bookstore, is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Merchandise Department, while ensuring CSU clothing, gifts, and gear are available throughout the year. • Establishes open to buy for merchandise items. • Manages, directs, and motivates full time and student employees. • Manages all functions of Merchandise Department such as selecting clothing and apparel, selecting designs, and ordering merchandise. • Authorizes payment of invoices, and collection of credits.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and two years of college store, fashion industry, clothing retail experience, or comparable combination of relevant education and experience. • Experience supervising employees in a fast paced environment. • Experience with purchasing options/decisions, such as open to buy processes. • Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socioeconomic, ethnic, religious, and cultural background, disability, and sexual orientation of students, faculty and staff. • Must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a driver’s license or access to a licensed driver by the employment start date.
