The Bookstore Operations Coordinator oversees sales floor operations with a focus on customer service, supervising student and part-time cashiers, and POS (point of sale) oversight. Coordinates accounts receivable and sponsored student accounts. Supports general merchandise (GM) buyers with budgets, margins, and overall product strategy. Provides overall review of systems and processes to ensure best accounting and inventory management processes. In the absence of the Director, this position will be the lead for oversight and decision making.

Associate's Degree in Business or related field -AND- Four years of experience in retail sales, accounts receivable, including computerized POS and merchandising systems and inventory management
Ability to hire, train and provide ongoing feedback
Ability to operate Point of Sale system and inventory management software
Ability to troubleshoot computer problems
Ability to manage accounts receivables
Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team
Ability to provide customer service to diverse populations including students, faculty, staff, and administration
Skills in using computers and related software applications to prepare a variety of reports and maintain various databases and confidential records
Strong writing, communication and presentation skills to convey information clearly and concisely to individuals and groups, coworkers, supervisors, and the general public
Communication and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution and the ability to communicate effectively, using tact and diplomacy when interacting with coworkers, supervisors, students, faculty, staff, vendors, and the general public
Skills in managing small projects and multiple tasks, identifying and resolving problems, prioritizing, and assigning work in demanding, time-sensitive environment
Knowledge of accounting principles
Knowledge of retail management
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or a closely related field
Three years of experience or more in college or retail store operation with emphasis on daily operations, hiring and training
Working knowledge of MBS ARC inventory management software
Completion of Chemeketa's Employee Development Cultural Competence Certificate (please attach a copy of your certificate with application)
