Job Summary
The Assistant Director of the Bookstore Operations is responsible for assisting the Director of Bookstore Operations with all functions of the bookstore including achieving goals, objectives, plans, policies, and operating procedures for the bookstore.
1. Responsible for compiling financial statements and other financial reports ensuring accuracy. Reconciles and performs audits of Achieve reports, BANNER postings, register totals reports, manages journal transfers, and processes Accounts Payable. Assists as needed with store opening/closing and register reconciliation.
2. Assists Director with all aspects of the Achieve workflow as it relates to communication, tasks, and actions required with the Achieve vendor, faculty, and students. Leads and delegates duties related to projects including Achieve distribution and rental check-in, physical inventory, and fiscal year-end.
3. Plans and executes bookstore events, print/digital marketing, and campus communication for Achieve and other bookstore vendor partners.
4. Monitors the annual bookstore budget and compiles profit and loss statements. Reviews and provides budget report data to Director for the purpose of attaining budgetary objectives.
5. Leads Information Systems to ensure technology systems support bookstore operations. Executes tasks necessary to maintain operating systems. Troubleshoots bookstore IT operations and communicates with software providers and campus IT support as needed.
6. Monitors and implements social media and website content/design. Updates webpage calendar, web catalogs, store hour information, and maintains subscriber list. Assists Merchandise Buyer with order fulfillment and provides customer support for online customers.
7. Supervise staff and student employees ensuring policies and procedures are enforced. Assists at the register during peak customer traffic times, when staffing situations arise, and in the absence of the Account Manager.
8. Submits facility requests, orders post-purchasing supplies, and promotional items. Assist as needed in other areas of the store.
Minimum Qualifications
1) Bachelor’s degree or by equivalent education or experience
2) Three plus years retail experience
Preferred Qualifications
1) Experience in financial budgeting
2) Experience in computer tasks
3) Supervisory level experience in a retail setting
4) Excellent oral and written communication skills
5) Ability to effectively supervise and lead employees
6) Excellent customer service skills
General shift hours
8:00am – 5:00pm
General Work Schedule (days of week)
Monday – Friday with approximately ten weekend days per school year.

Salary – $22.80 – $25.43
The final salary will be determined based on factors such as education, experience, skills, certifications, and alignment with the position’s requirements. Other considerations may include internal equity and market conditions
